Information about the domains used by Plickers

In some of our troubleshooting steps, we ask you to ensure that a number of domains are accessible to your school’s network (also known as ‘whitelisting’).

In case you or your IT team are interested in what these domains are used for, we’ve included the information for you below (click on each toggle box to learn more).

Please note the following:

• The asterisk at the front of each domain denotes that the whitelisting should cover everything within that domain - this is especially the case for *.plickers.com for example.
• The scheme (i.e. https and wss) for each of the domains is quite specific, so please ensure they're used correctly.

Below are the domains that are required for Plickers to function properly.

• Used to load our website and communicate with our backend server. More specifically, this grouping includes the following:

  • https://assets.plickers.com
  • https://media.plickers.com
  • https://preview.plickers.com
  • https://my.plickers.com
  • https://help.plickers.com

• Used for Google integrations, such as Google Sign-in and for importing classes from Google Classroom.

• Used for web/mobile communication, like Now Playing display interaction. For example, when you select ‘Show Correct’ on the app, the correct answer is revealed on the Now Playing display at plickers.com.

• Used for the image search function within the Editor.

• Used for gifs within question content.

• Used for videos within question content.

• Used for Pro subscription payment.

• Used for searches throughout our web application (plickers.com), for example content search.

Optional

The domains below are nice-to-haves, but not essential.

• Used to load images from Youtube, like thumbnails and icons.

• Used for recaptcha.

• Used for error tracking, so that we can detect any problems with the service as quickly as possible.
